Hebden Bridge

That's where we are...at this moment enjoying breakfast with the door open and listening to the birds chirping and the river gurgling over the rocks.
Yesterday we took off to Skipton and Knaresborough.   Sadly my photos of Skipton seem to have skipped town (sorry about the appalling humour)  anyway I digress....
The weather is sunny and warm, very warm.  The Badger informed me it was 28! What's that about? It snowed last year.
This morning it is shaping up much the same.
Skipton and Knaresborough were lovely.   The market was on in Skipton and the place was buzzing.  Knaresborough is charming.   It's like something out of a novel. Picturesque and people paddling along the river.  The viaduct is stunning and the ruins of the castle sit in gardens perched high on the hill.  They had the castle ravens on jessies.  You could really get up close if desired.   Not me however,  I admired from a safe distance.  Majestic and handsome they were but I still struggle with feather phobia.
We had an early dinner on our balcony of last night's leftovers. Then trotted into town for a beverage.   Hebden Bridge was hotting up as bands started to arrive.  We were done in by 9 though and decided to ditch the White Lion for the Bat and Badger.  So our evening finished back on the balcony and we finally went to bed... when it went dark...after 10.30...infact I'm pretty sure it was close to 11pm! Madness!
One of the photos is of the sluice by an old mill in Hebden Bridge. We were fascinated that the 'water wheel' was a huge screw and still working.   This is an old mill town. Love the history behind it.  The mills are all defunct now have varied new functions.
