Just another day in the life of a pair of lunatics. Got up to domestic bliss, tea coffee, toast and marmalade on our little Lillie, the barg boat.
We tootled along... Relaxing, taking in the view and atmosphere...nice. Tried to find somewhere for laundry...but no, unless you are a paid up member of whatever...no laundry for you. Oh and no obliging barman in sight... So we had to do some ourselves in the sink... So now our little haven looks like a Chinese laundry...oops sorry probably not pc.
Upon pulling up tying up etc the Badger leans over and drops his new Ray Bans into the canal... Bad Badger. They sink slowly down below into the murky depths. Present from Bat so she was not best pleased. So what does he do? According to him, he dove to the bottom of the canal to retrieve them. What I actually saw was him laying on the tow path with his arm dangling into the water rummaging about, thankfully the canal at the mooring was only 2 and a half foot deep. However...up they came albeit covered in weed, well they needed a bit of a clean anyway. Lucky Badger.
Anyway, after a brilliant day of barging, we pulled into Lancaster. What a lovely place. We are currently at 8.50 pm local time, moored at the Water Witch Pub enjoying a tipple. The Badger is checking in with Pete and Shirley in Paris and I'm obviously blogging.
We dined in tonight. Chef Bat did some steak a la Enid... Onion gravy and veg. Not a bad effort in a teeny kitchen/sweat shop with the steam from the washing and the heat from the pot belly stove.
One very lucky badger! Great that his arm wasn't taken by sharks what a brave chap. Love from the ex-squash player ❤️. Can we have a full photo of your craft so we can compare it to the Bismark as that was the boat we sailed in 44 years ago on the Broads Mate you are one very lucky chap getting your Sunnies back rather you then me putting your hand in that merky shittee water... not everybody has a cassette HaHaHaHa...Val xxx. ❤️
